Registration open until Friday, March 14th

Spring Classes Begin March 24 - June 6th*

*No Classes April 14-18th, May 26th 

Classes run Monday, Thursday 2:30-3:30p 

Stevens PTA is committed to making afterschool enrichment accessible to every student. Financial aid is available.

How Does Open Registration Work?

  • OPEN REGISTRATION NOW THRU FRIDAY, March 14th! Registration is NOT first come, first serve. The open period allows you time to discuss with your student and review the student conduct expectations. 

  • After the initial open registration ends after March 14th, a random lottery for any over-enrolled classes after will take place for student spots.

  • EMAIL CONFIRMATION of your student’s enrollment along with payment instructions will be sent before March 18th.

  • Remaining spots after March 14th will be filled on a first come, first serve basis until classes are filled.

Spring Classes

Classes meet after school from 2:30PM - 3:30PM

Students are dismissed by their teachers to the enrichment classroom where they will be given a nut free granola bar or a gluten free fruit leather as a snack.  There is no bus transportation. Students will be dismissed to Kids Club (if enrolled) or picked up by authorized person. If your student is picked up, please be ON TIME at 3:30PM at north rear doors! We are volunteers and there is no supervision available after class end!

MONDAY: Beginning Chess (Gr K-2) - $243

Embark on a captivating chess journey designed for brand new beginners and those continuing to develop their tactical skills. This class combines a focus on fundamental chess principles with opportunities for students to delve into basic chess openings, laying the foundation for a solid chess repertoire. Instructor, Michael Adams, a game designer responsible for creating numerous board games, including the popular Cranium Hullabaloo. Michael's unique background as a former kindergarten teacher infuses the class with a warm and gentle teaching style, making him a beloved figure among students. MONDAY: Intermediate-Advanced Chess (Gr 2-5) - $243

Elevate your chess skills to the next level! Designed for students already familiar with the fundamentals of chess, this course provides an engaging and competitive environment for those seeking to advance their game. Led by the highly skilled instructor William Schill FM, a profoundly gifted chess player with extensive experience, students will join a community of developing players. Throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to enhance their strategic thinking by exploring historically significant chess games. Weekly sessions involve fun and competitive gameplay, with children vying for a spot on the Chess Leaderboard. This dynamic atmosphere encourages students to implement observed strategies in their own matches. seattlechessschool.org

MONDAY (New Day!): Wildlife Art with Willow (Gr 3-5) - $255

Draw, paint, sketch, and color nature scenes and animal art while hearing Miss Willow's tales of growing up in the Alaskan wilderness. Students will vote as a class on which creatures and magical art to learn. Each class will focus on different artistic skills, nature themes, animals, and art mediums. THURSDAY: Art Smart Nature with Miss Wilson! (Gr K-2) - $240

Art Smart with Stevens' very own Kindergarten teacher, Miss Glory Wilson! Explore art techniques such as line design, collage, shading, mosaic and more! Learn about mixing colors to create new colors. Art Smart is designed to allow students to be creative as they design their own artwork creations about nature.  Initial priority will be given to K students for the class

 

**VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! To offer this class, we will need volunteers to assist at the beginning (15 min check-in, provide snack) and the end of the class for dismissal (10 min) of students. Miss Wilson requests assistance during these important times at the beginning and end of the class. If you are able to volunteer consistently, we also offer a discounted class fee!
